Be a positive presence! Spreading joy to others creates a joy epidemic that will spread throughout your social circle, including you. A simple smile or a kind word is enough, and you should notice that other people treat you better.
Make your home your own. Sometimes we find ourselves living in less than ideal circumstances. To make any place comfortable, decorate it with familiar, special items that are meaningful to you.
Friendships will provide you with the fuel, energy and the love that will feed your emotions in a positive way. You should make new friendships throughout you life. By putting yourself out there and meeting new people, you can create friendships that will enrich your life.
Get enough sleep nightly. It is said that each person needs an average of eight hours daily. Various illnesses such as depression have been shown to be exacerbated by inadequate sleep.
Don't be out in an environment that is too extreme. Staying out in the blazing sun or freezing cold for 12 hours at a time can cause skin damage. Cumulative skin damage will not only speed the aging process, but it can also be a catalyst for skin cancer.
Eat a sensible diet. Your diet should include lots of fruits and vegetables but limited amounts of fats and sugars. You'll have lots of energy to help you through your day, and your nutritious diet will help you stay physically and mentally in top form.
Enjoy yourself! Age has its privileges and you should focus on them rather than worrying about lost youth. Find activities that you enjoy doing, and have fun with what life brings.
Hopefully, you will have picked up some interesting ideas and insight that you can use to improve your life, and the lives of others. Always be willing to learn new things and preserve your youth. Remember, millions of aging adults are living active, enjoyable lives.
